About Barefoot Bradley's Landscape Design
We've been captivated by the outdoors and nature since childhood. Our upbringing was immersed in the cultivation of tropical fruits like cavendish bananas, papaya, and pineapples, thanks to our father's passion for gardening. Our family's farming heritage dates back to the late 1800s when Sofie Frey pioneered agriculture in Delray Beach, focusing on vegetables before specializing in pineapples, a legacy enshrined in local history.
Bradley’s journey with plants began early, planting seasonal flowers like pentas, impatiens, and caladiums for his mother. Inspired by his father, Bradley delved into experimenting with different plants, sourcing them from local markets and propagating cuttings from neighboring gardens, gradually transforming his yard into a vibrant reflection of botanical passion. While Bradley initially was pursuing an architectural degree in college, his career path took an unexpected turn when he discovered a profound love for plants while working part-time at a garden center.
Over twelve enriching years, Bradley’s knowledge expanded as he engaged with growers, landscapers, and customers, evolving from plant enthusiast to seasoned advisor and landscape designer. This journey culminated in the founding of Barefoot Bradley’s, where we all now combine our expertise in plant species and landscape design to fulfill a lifelong passion.
